Description
This is a 1951 Chevrolet 3100 pickup truck that is finished in gloss black paint over a red leather interior. The truck is located in Rocky Mountain House, AB and is being sold in a private sale offering. It was professionally restored by Wild Rides in Westwold, BC by specialist Allan Conquergood, representing over 30 years of hot rod and custom car experience at the second largest hot rod facility in Canada. The paint, bodywork, and frame was completed there in 2009. This 3100 is powered by a Corvette crate engine with number 14010207 - This engine was used by Chevrolet in their Corvette's from 1980 to 1985 with a 4.00 and 3.48 inch bore and stroke.
It is paired with a new TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller mentions that the truck has been driven approximately 1000 kms since restoration, and passed an out of province inspection in 2017 without any work recommended.
For US bidders, this truck is directly importable without modification as it is EPA & DOT exempt being greater than 25 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The exterior of the pickup features gloss black paint with chrome trim completing the body on all panels. All of the exterior and interior chrome is said to be new - with chrome bumpers, grille, hood ornaments, fuel cap, and window frames. Exterior features include vent windows (new for that year), a split windshield, round headlights, cab over fenders, and a cowl hood, forcing cool air into the engine bay. The wood bed floor was replaced with ⅛ steel plating and then repainted. The vehicle is fully undercoated, with new rubber and seals all throughout.
Putting the power to the ground are 15” Corvette rally wheels with Hercules H/P 4000 P235/60/R15 tires. Stopping the truck are disc brakes that are featured at the front and drum brakes in the rear.
It uses the front suspension system from a 1978 Camaro with a limited slip differential in the rear.
The interior cabin of this Chevy truck has been re-trimmed with red leather bucket seats, with a matching red leather middle console, emergency brake, door trim, and headliner. It has been equipped with a tilt steering column from a 1984 Chevrolet S10. This has a chrome three spoke design which fronts a 90 mph speedometer to the left and a four-way integrated gauge to the right which combines fuel, battery, temperature, and oil pressure.
This roomy cab has chrome Chevrolet badging on the passenger side of the dash, chrome window handle knobs, and a chrome wiper knob. The floor is lined with new black carpeting.
This restored Chevy ½ ton pickup is powered by a new Corvette 350 ci small block crate engine paired with a new TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. This is installed with the help of a new wiring harness and a newly balanced drive shaft.
