Description
This 1974 Volkswagen Type 2 is a Brazilian-built example that features 15 windows including a split front-windshield and is said to have received cosmetic refurbishment under previous ownership while in Brazil before being imported to the US.
The bus is finished in Green and white over a white and black interior, and power is from a 1,493cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. This Kombi is offered with a Massachusetts title in the private seller’s name.
For Canadian bidders, this Volkswagen Bus is directly importable without modification being greater than 15 years old. For more information on transport/import please visit our Transport/Import page here.
The body was repainted in Green and white along with matching white painted bumpers and chrome trim along the exterior of the bus. Details include a split windshield, with bumpers with black guards, dual “barn doors” on the right, and headlamp bezels with integrated reflectors. The large VW emblem at the front of the bus has been left unpainted in a chrome finish.
The interior windows are side-sliding with folding interior checker curtains. Corner guards are equipped on the white-painted bumpers, and the rear end retains the small tail lights that were discontinued on Brazilian vans after 1975.
Steel wheels are finished in ivory and wear chrome hubcaps as well as 185/75 radial tires.
The cabin features a bulkhead between the front and rear seats, which have been retrimmed in black and white vinyl. Three rows of seating exist, with lap belts for the rear-two rows.
Shoulder restraints are equipped for front seat occupants, and a spare wheel is stored in the driver’s compartment. A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-kmh speedometer with a five-digit odometer showing 300-kilometers (186-miles). True actual mileage is unknown.
A fuel gauge and an aftermarket stereo head unit are also mounted in the dash. Dual swing-out doors provide access to the rear compartment. A cabin ventilation box is mounted on the ceiling.
Power is from an air-cooled 1,493cc flat-four equipped with single-port cylinder heads and a single carburetor. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. The seller mentions this engine runs without any issues. The seller mentions that any photos that bidders would like on request can be completed, just send a message through the contact seller button or post a comment below of the request.
