Blog: 1970 Cutlass Supreme fastback

This 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme is being offered by a seller in Komoka, ON for $30,000 with 70,000 kms on the odometer. This fastback Cutlass coupe is finished in black with yellow pinstriping. The seller notes that this Cutlass is an all-original, with new paint, brakes, and master cylinder added in 2021.

Produced by General Motors from 1961 to 1999, the Cutlass was named after the short, curved, single-edged sword carried by sailors in the early modern period (the mid 16th to mid 19th centuries). GM released numerous variants, such as the famed performance model 4-4-2, which had a four-barrel carb, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. On the other end of the scale, That 70s Show made the less-showy Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon famous for modern eyes. The Cutlass Supreme is an intermediate performance, premium trim level, with a plush velvet and leather interior.

This RWD Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme hardtop is powered by a 350 cubic inch V8 engine rated at 250 horsepower, paired with a 2 barrel carburetor and a Turbo Hydra-matic 3-speed automatic transmission. It utilises a 12-bolt Positraction rear end. Should your designs involve a rebuild, you’ll find that the availability of reproduction parts are bolstered by the abundance of 4-4-2 collectors.
