Blog: 1977 F-250 Camper Special

This 1977 Ford F-250 is being offered by its original owner in Sicamous, BC for $16,000, or best offer, with 200,000 kms on the odometer. This RWD automatic ¾ ton Camper Special is finished in Clair Orange and Tan.

In 1977 Ford relocated the model’s fuel tank from behind the seat to below the pickup bed, and the split grill design was accentuated with black accents around the headlights. The vehicle came equipped with deluxe tutone paint, power steering, a slide out spare tire carrier, air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, a trailer towing wiring harness, auxiliary oil cooler and rear springs, and a rear step bumper.

Ford’s sixth generation of pickups saw the manufacturer increase its use of galvanised sheet metal, zinc coated steel, and zinc-rich primer, and the 1977 model line became the best-selling truck in the United States, which remains true today.

The engine, too, is iconic - Ford’s most popular, longest lasting big block V8. A 406 cubic inch engine with an output of 212 at 4,400 rpm and 342 lb-ft of torque at 2,600 rpm. It is paired with a Ford C6 “SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic” heavy-duty 3-speed automatic transmission.
