Blog: 1988 BMW 325is with S50 engine swap

This 1988 BMW 325is E30 with an S50 engine swap is being offered by a seller in Winnipeg, MB for $31,995 with 12,000 kms on the odometer. This modified manual RWD coupe is finished in Diamantschwarz Metallic over a spotless black leather interior.

With it’s 1988 325is shell, this second generation 3 Series narrowly escaped the ‘84-’87 E30’s obtrusive front and rear anodized aluminum bumpers, sporting instead short body-coloured plastic bumpers for a more modern look, made all the more aggressive with the addition of a Pandem bumper and side skirt kit. The vehicle’s braking system has been upgraded with braided lines, drilled rotors, and performance pads. Sitting on CCW Classic three piece modular forged wheels, the car comes with a second set of BMW OEM wheels and track ready tires. Inside you’ll find a sunroof, leather seats, and an M steering wheel. Air conditioning has been improved with the installation of a new blower motor and resistor pack.

This BMW 325is has been equipped with a 3.0-liter S50B32 inline-six paired with an M3 6-speed manual transmission (both those of a 1995 M3) and comes with a diagnostic scanner for this engine purchased from ECS tuning. Suspension has been upgraded with a 3.25 limited slip E34 differential and BC Racing coilovers with adjustable ride height and damping. For improved responsiveness and handling, the car has been fitted with a South Bend Stage 2 Endurance clutch kit with new hydraulics, Eibach adjustable sway bars in the front and rear, and shock tower braces in the front and rear.
