Blog: '69 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Restomod

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Restomod is being offered for $66,400 by a seller in Caledon East, ON. With an odometer reading 1,234 kms you don’t have to wonder what he’s been up to with this optimal All-American pony project! Fitted with Foose 18” wheels and featuring prominent Z/28 emblems, a black cowl induction hood, and side pinstripes to contrast the Dover white finish, this car will turn heads at the track. The seller used all new sheet metal body panels, stainless steel brake and fuel lines, and a Painless muscle car wiring harness in this restoration. 1969 Camaro Z/28’s are differentiated from the preceding years by their low, wide body, the deep V slant to the grille, and the squared off wheel openings.

Riding on a RWD GM F-body platform, almost all 1967-1969 Camaros were built in GM’s assembly plants in Norwood, Ohio, and Van Nuys, California. 121,051 Camaros were produced in that time, and just 602 Z/28’s. The Camaro Z/28 performance package was designed to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am Racing Series, just sliding in under their 5.0 displacement limit, and winning a victory there in 1969. Today it is championed as the best-handling Camaro.

This detail-oriented seller has outfitted his Camaro Z/28 with a 296 big block, COMP cams, roller rockers, a GM forged steel crankshaft, oval port heads, an Edelbrock RPM air-gap intake manifold, a 750 CFM Classic Holley carb, a March Serpentine pulley system, a custom aluminum radiator with twin electric fans, a 700R4 transmission with a Hughes Performance GM30 torque converter, a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11 Sure Grip Posi rear end, QA1 single adjustable shocks, Stainless Works 2” headers, and a Flowmaster 3” exhaust system. All it needs is the internal door panels and windows, have at her!
