Blog: Concourse Level BMW M3 E92

This 2008 BMW M3 E92 is being offered by a seller in Orleans, ON for $94,000 with only 3,900 kms on the odometer. This rare collector grade coupe is finished in Sparkling Graphite Metallic and equipped with every available option, including extended interior leather, carbon fibre roof, mirrors, and interior trim, and the BMW Performance exhaust system. Included in the sale are the original build sheet and the bill of sale, along with two unused collector’s BMW M bicycles, with their own records and manuals.

The fourth generation BMW M3 was launched in 2007, and ran until 2013. The E92 designation referred to the coupe body style, E93 being the convertible and E90 the sedan. Their release marked the first time that the German manufacturer had powered the M3 with a V8 engine. Car and Driver described the fourth generation M3 as “the finest car on the market, period.”

This BMW M3 E92 interior features Jade Grey Dakota leather seats, carbon fibre trim upgrades, the sports steering wheel with contrasting stitching, and of course, the M Drive dynamic driving buttons next to the gear selector.

The BMW M3 E92 is equipped with their S65B40 engine paired to a 6 speed manual transmission. This 4.0-liter V8 has a power output of 420 hp and uses BMW’s VANOS variable valve timing system. Weighing only 202 kgs, this naturally aspirated engine was produced in BMW’s Landshut light metal foundry, alongside BMW’s Sauber Formula 1 V8’s. The carbon fibre roof on the BMW M3 E92 reduces the overall weight and lowers the centre of gravity of the car. With an M Performance Driving package, it is capable of speeds up to 280 km/hr. This is facilitated by the M3’s adaptive chassis and electronic damper control buttons, which can be customised to the driver’s preference. Fast, dynamic, and vocal, the BMW M3 E92 is high performance automotive manufacturing at its best.
