Produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1989 to 2001, the Mercedes 500SL was unveiled at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show, and was runner-up behind the Citroen XM for European Car of the Year. The seller shares that this 500SL is eligible for collectors plate, and was driven locally in the BC summers. 

With the R129, Mercedes-Benz introduced an electronically controlled damping system, a hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar, and power windows, mirrors, and seats.
