The R230 identification is the internal designation given to the Mercedes-Benz SL-class produced from 2001-2012. The SL65 AMG was introduced in 2005 with a powerful V12 Bi-Turbo motor factory rated at a tire-melting 604 hp and 738 ft-lbs of torque. All R230 SL65’s came with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The resulting powertrain allowed the SL65 to reach 0-60 in 4.1 seconds.
