W114 & W115

The Mercedes-Benz W114 and W115 were the manufacturers identification for a generation of front-engine, RWD, five passenger sedans and coupes produced between 1968 to 1976. Their nameplates related to their engine size, with the W114 230, 250, and 280 being six-cylinders, and the W115 200, 220, 230, and 240 being four cylinders. Diesel engines had a D affixed to the end. Constructed in Germany and designed by Paul Bracq, almost all of these cars had 4-speed transmissions, though there are rare examples of coupes with 5-speed manual transmissions and fuel injection systems. These Mercedes models are known for being reliable and durable.
