The Jeep Wagoneer was in production from 1963 to 1991, and set the standard for a luxury sport utility vehicle at that time. Originally marketed as the Cherokee, in 1984 the Wagoneer moved from the SJ platform to the XJ platform and the top trim became the Grand Wagoneer, though the automaker began reintroducing elements of the SJ body platform due to its resounding popularity.
