Produced since 2018, the F90 M5 was the first of these sedans to be released with an AWD layout as opposed to a RWD layout, though it can be configured for the latter with Electronic Stability Control disabled. The base model is powered by a 4.4-liter S63 twin-turbo V8 paired with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. Competition and CS package versions of the M5 are available that include upgrades like higher power and lightweight materials.
