When released at the Tokyo motor show in 2007, the R35 GT-R took the motor world by storm. It completed the Nurbugring lap in 7:38 minutes which at the time was faster than the Porsche 911 turbo. For the fraction of a the price of an exotic supercar, it offered supercar level performance in stock-form. The after market tuning scene has since taken the R35 as one of their own because of its modified capabilities by seeing tuned power figures commonly in the thousands of horsepower.
