New Yorker TC3-H/VC3-H

The 1963 to 1964 Chrysler New Yorker luxury sedans were internally designated models TC3-H and VC3-H by the American manufacturer. This sleek and stylish sedan is a sumptuous vestige of the Golden Age of the Detroit Auto Industry. It was designed by Elwood Engel (of Lincoln Continental fame), who adapted this flagship of the Chrysler brand from the large tail fins and and jet-age front wings of his predecessor Virgil Exner’s “forward look” designs in the 50s into the more streamlined and sophisticated look of luxurious limousines which characterized the early 60s.  These models came equipped with a 413 cubic inch (6.8-liter) overhead valve V8 powering the rear wheels by way of a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission.
