The Porsche 928S is a 2-door luxury grand tourer created in an effort to get ahead of the curve on increasingly stringent emissions regulations amid the 70s oil crisis. The German manufacturer wanted to release a new flagship car that would meet the new standards while being capable of reaching the popularity of the 911 in its heyday, with the power of a sports car but the comfort of a sedan. The 928 is distinctive in the Porsche lineup being the firm’s first V8-powered model, and their only coupe to date with a front-mounted water-cooled V8.
