Bearspaw Lions Club Show & Shine 2024

On July 20, 2024, I embarked on a mission to attend three different automotive events across southern Alberta. After attending the European Classic Car Meet at Stanley Park in Calgary, Alberta, I arrived at my second destination of the day: the Bearspaw Lions Club Show & Shine.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Bearspaw Lions Hall, located midway between Calgary and Cochrane, the venue provided the perfect setting for a classic car show. The fully bloomed trees and vibrant green foliage not only cooled the area but also added a natural touch of color to the display of incredible collector cars.

The show itself was modest, featuring around one hundred classic cars, primarily from the Cochrane, Bearspaw, and northern Calgary areas. To my surprise and delight, most of the vehicles were ones I hadn’t seen at other shows. From a 1973 Ford Torino styled as a Zebra 3 tribute to a rare four-door Thunderbird, the event showcased a remarkable variety of unique vehicles

The Bearspaw Lions Club Show & Shine may have been a modestly sized event, but with its impressive collection of around one hundred vehicles, many of which rarely venture far from the area, it turned out to be a memorable show.

Until the next time I see you guys, get wrenching, get driving, and keep these classics alive!
