Chinook County Cruisers Show & Shine 2024

On June 15, 2024, I embarked on a mission to tour southwestern Alberta for car shows, aiming to add as many vehicles as possible to the Searching For Classics "CarChives." My first stop of the day was the familiar town of Nanton, Alberta, which I had previously visited in 2023 for a different event. This time, I attended the Chinook County Cruisers Show & Shine.

The Chinook County Cruisers Show & Shine is a relatively new annual event, gaining prominence after 2020 when all official car shows were cancelled for the season. The car club and the show were created to bring the Nanton automotive community together, providing a venue to showcase their incredible collector cars.

Situated just north of the town's baseball diamond in the adjacent field, the show attracted nearly 100 unique vehicles. Many of these vehicles, rarely seen at other shows and typically kept local, added a special allure for someone like me, who aims to photograph every classic car out there.

The show featured a diverse range of automobiles, from a selection of JDM wagons to high-horsepower Chevelles, ensuring there was something for everyone to admire. Alongside the display, several vendors sold automotive memorabilia and parts, offering containers filled with trim and emblems that are nearly impossible to find these days.

The Chinook County Cruisers Show & Shine in Nanton was a resounding success, with nearly 100 automobiles coming from far and wide. The event featured a small vendor section, a variety of impressive automobiles, and enthusiastic attendees. Now, it's off to the next show of the day!
