On August 18, 2024, I journeyed south of Calgary to revisit a celebrated automotive showcase, one that had returned to its beloved roots. The Okotoks Show & Shine was once again held in the town’s cherished downtown sector.

After being moved to Dawgs Stadium in 2023, the annual Okotoks Show & Shine returned downtown, much to the delight of attendees. The downtown core, a crowd favorite, offered a unique charm with its shops and gardens surrounding the impressive array of vehicles.

Hundreds of classic and special-interest vehicles were spread across more than four blocks in downtown Okotoks. Showcased along Elizabeth and McRae Streets, the vehicles were complemented by additional displays in nearby parking lots, thanks to the efforts of dedicated event volunteers.

For the first time since the previous year’s relocation, the Okotoks Show & Shine filled downtown with onlookers, who enjoyed the historic cars as well as the unmistakable charm of Okotoks.
