Porcupine Hills Classic Cruisers Show and Shine 2024

On August 11, 2024, I decided to change course from the previous day's car show events, heading south toward the town of Claresholm, Alberta. My goal for the day was to photograph and document as many classic cars at the event as possible.

The Porcupine Hills Classic Cruisers hosted their annual Show and Shine at Centennial Park in Claresholm, a location they’ve used for years. The event filled the park with over 150 unique collector vehicles, spread across the ball diamond and beneath a permanently displayed airplane.

Among the highlights for me were a pair of 1968 Chevrolet Camaros, both in similar colors but with stark differences—one was a factory-original restoration, while the other featured a full resto-mod build with an LSX powertrain. Elsewhere in the park, a vintage Diamond T ramp truck caught my eye, loaded with a smaller Studebaker ramp truck, which in turn carried a late-1930s Ford Coupe, creating a trifecta of automotive coolness.

The Porcupine Hills Classic Cruisers Show and Shine has become a staple in my yearly car show circuit. With its park filled to capacity with classic cars and its charming small-town atmosphere miles from any major city, this event is one I look forward to attending and enjoying for years to come.

Until the next time I see you guys, get wrenching, get driving, and keep these classics alive!
