Iron Indians BOP Show and Shine 2024

On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, the Alberta Iron Indians Pontiac Club hosted their annual Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac (B.O.P.) Show & Shine. In its second year at the Calgary Military Museums, the event drew in over one hundred non-Chevrolet GM vehicles. Despite the vast number of vehicles on display, a select few captivated the crowd the most.

Every year, the Alberta Iron Indians Car Club commemorates the legacy of Pontiac with an annual show and shine. In recent years, the event has expanded to include Buick and Oldsmobile vehicles. As the range of allowable entries broadened, so did the variety of showcased vehicles.

This year, a small group of highly coveted American muscle cars were featured, including four Canadian-sold Buick GSXs that traveled far and wide to grace the museum grounds. Invited from Idaho, Ontario, and Alberta, these rare beauties were a sight to behold and returned home in style.

Despite the GSXs being the stars of the show, many other noteworthy vehicles were in attendance. Stew, the club president, organized a collection of historic coach-built ambulances and even had one of the museum’s own tanks displayed among the automobiles.

The 2024 Iron Indians “BOP” Show & Shine was one of their best events yet. With a tank, four incredibly rare American muscle cars, ambulances, and over one hundred specialty vehicles, it may have been their most extravagant event to date. I eagerly await next year to see what Stew and the rest of the Iron Indians have in store!

Until the next time I see you guys, get wrenching, get driving, and keep these classics alive!
