Blog: Get the People Goin with this Dark Green Z28

This 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with apx. 150 kms is being offered by a seller in Lindsay, ON for trade with a Dodge diesel from 1993 to 2008 or a Chevrolet square body truck from 1983 to 1987 of equal value. This Eastern man knows what he wants, and he’s put in the work to turn this hardtop pony into more of a stallion. Powered by a small block V8 stroker paired to a Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission, this finely tuned head turner is finished in Dark Blue Green over a grey and black interior.

The Z28 exterior is as distinctive as American muscle gets, with a hawkish urethane nose and accompanying air dam, a sleek hood scoop, a prominent rear spoiler, and sharp fender flares. Amber turn signals were introduced at the rear in this year. Power steering, new front brakes and a new master cylinder make for a more controlled ride, sitting on 15” Centreline wheels that are 295 wides in the back.

Produced by Chevrolet from 1970 to 1981, the second generation Camaro was longer, lower, and wider than its predecessor, and available only as a hardtop. This example has a black interior with sport seats, a cockpit-style instrument cluster (the last year this was available), and a Hurst Competition Plus shifter with reverse lockout.

This Z28 is powered by a small block stroker V8 with a Holley intake manifold and a 650 CFM manual choke carburetor. This drives the rear wheels with a Muncie M21 4-speed close ratio manual transmission equipped with a Lakewood scattershield for increased track safety. This system’s ignition is optimised with an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and Blaster 2 coil. The car is equipped with fully adjustable ladder bar suspension to help plant the rear wheels on the drag strip. Built to be driven, this road-holding Z28 is just waiting for the right taker (not kicker) to come along.
