The significance of automotive museums increases with each passing year. Amid the steady decline of museums worldwide, with some ceasing to operate altogether, supporting these collections has become paramount in preserving history. They tirelessly strive to preserve history and culture for future generations. Gasoline Alley Museum stands as one of the few automotive museums still open in Canada. It offers a unique historical perspective and houses some of the rarest and most obscure vehicles, unknown to many.

Since its opening in April 2009, Gasoline Alley quickly captured the hearts of visitors to Calgary's renowned Heritage Park Historic Village. As the largest building in the Heritage Town Square entry area, it is accompanied by charming storefronts running perpendicular to the museum, adding to its allure.

The late Ron Carey generously donated the majority of the museum's items, driven by his desire to share his extensive collection of automobiles and memorabilia with the world. He believed that such remarkable pieces of automotive history should be displayed for others to appreciate and enjoy.

Upon entering the museum, a friendly gatekeeper warmly welcomes you and assists with your entry into the historic collection. Standing beside them is an immaculate Ford Model A delivery van, radiating a welcoming glow to both new and returning visitors alike.

As you step into the main hall, prepare to be mesmerised by the captivating array of themes and automobiles within the collection. The name "Gasoline Alley" finds its origin in the remarkable lineup of vintage fuel pumps, their historic signs glowing brightly for all to admire.

Inside the main hall, you'll discover a captivating collection of pre-war era automobiles, including a pair of Gatsby era vehicles, a Cord and Auburn. These classic cars are joined by original delivery trucks from the twenties and thirties, forming an eclectic display of automotive history. Above them, a vast assortment of original neon dealership signs and road signs add to the ambiance, complementing the incredible array of historic machines.

Beyond its initial face value, the museum holds hidden treasures that extend to an often overlooked second level. Descending to the basement reveals a vast assortment of vehicles dating no newer than 1950, scattered throughout the lower level. Here, you'll encounter a fascinating array of automobiles, including an early Mack truck, an unrestored Nash 450 sedan, and even a pair of retro tow trucks. This overlooked section of the museum is a must-see for all visitors, offering a unique glimpse into automotive history.
