Blog: Low km C4 ‘Vette

This 1995 Chevrolet Corvette is being offered by a seller in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for $24,900 with 19,100 kms on the odometer. Chevrolet produced the C4 generation of this iconic luxury sports car from 1983 until 1996.

Finished in black with alloy wheels and aluminium callipers, this automatic C4 ‘Vette saves on weight with bumpers and panels made of compound plastics as opposed to fibreglass. The roof panel is removable, and its retractable headlights frame Corvette flags and and a script embossment centering the hood. Gills accent the front fenders and four quad tail lights grace the rear fascia.

The interior cabin features embossed sport seats upholstered in black leather, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, console, and shifter. The sound system employs a Bose stereo and speakers. Instrumentation uses a digital liquid crystal display.

The C4 Corvette is powered by a Chevy small block LT1 engine - a 5.7-liter V8 rated at 300 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque when new. Some minor adjustments were made to the engine bay in 1995. These included a quieter cooling fan, new mapping on the 4-speed automatic transmission, and a lighter, stronger torque converter.

The C4 Corvette’s FX3 suspension was engineered by Bilstein. This system utilises a gas-over-oil shock absorber with a hollow centre shaft controlling the flow of oil, allowing for six damping settings in each of the three driving modes; Touring, Sport, and Performance, all managed by a microprocessor. Transverse fibreglass mono-leaf springs further improved ride quality, being lightweight and low-rate.
