As the final few evenings of the local A&W Cruising At The Junction in 2023 approached, the leaves began to fall off the trees, the numbers of attendees began to dwindle, and the temperatures started to cool. Despite these changes, the enthusiasm of some die-hard participants remained unwavering, exemplified by this 1937 Buick Special, one of the last vehicles to grace the Glendeer Circle venue.

In 2023, the A&W events welcomed a new participant in the form of a 1937 Buick Special, freshly imported from California earlier that year. The caretaker of this immaculate pre-war survivor beamed with pride, having recently acquired it.

Painted in the rarely seen Buick Samara Beige, a soft, original colour seldom witnessed on historic classics in the 21st century, the Special sported an added touch of class. Adorning the front bumper were forward-facing amber fog lights, not only enhancing visibility in the dark but also contributing to the captivating visual aesthetics of this Series 40 Buick.

Within the car's interior, the original upholstery has defied the passage of time, its striped fabric remaining fully intact nearly a century after it rolled off the factory floor. The faux wood grain trim inside the Buick serves as a timeless reminder of the era, reminiscent of the 1940 McLaughlin-Buick spotted a few months prior.

Towards the end of the car show season, the 1937 Buick Special proved to be a truly special sight. It stands as a genuine survivor from the pre-war era, proudly displaying its original Samara Beige colour on the exterior and retaining its original upholstery within. This Buick is undeniably a remarkable piece of automotive history, continuing to grace the roads today.
